Skipper & Crew

Safe and experienced

Catamarans are traditionally thought of as safer than monohulled boats without compromising on speed. They’re also more comfortable as they don’t roll around as much on the water, you won’t even spill your drink!

Dualist has all the latest safety equipment on board including life rafts, a dinghy, fire extinguishers, VHF radio and satellite navigation system, flares and auto inflating lifejackets. Every passenger will view a full safety DVD and be briefed before embarkation.

A FEW WORDS ABOUT OUR SKIPPER

Brian Thomson

Brian started out,  having left school at 17, in the Merchant Navy an Engineering Officer. Life at Sea was amazing and too much of a good thing as in his late 20’s he decided to come ashore and embark on a different career.  His career moved into Finance with his company providing  Asset based funding too members of the health professions. Having had a family and approaching the big 40 he decided to embark on a new hobby …. Sailing

This  re-ignited his passion for the sea and very quickly he obtained his RYA Yachtmaster qualifications, whilst obtaining his practical skill on his yacht    “ Ubiquity”,  a Moody 336.

Brian has sailed in the Caribbean, Mediterranean, West Coast of France, and extensively  in the Clyde , not to mention the Solent and the beautiful West Coast of Scotland.

His passion for sailing and introducing people to the sport is energetic. He loves  showing  people just what a  beautiful environment we have in the Clyde , with some of the world’s most stunning  vistas.

Brian is also a full qualified Diver and First Aider, and our skipper also holds a Yachtmaster with Commercial Endorsements and Cruising Instructor qualification as awarded by the RYA. All our crew are also RYA qualified.
