Tranquility & Nature
Holy Isle
Step on board the Dualist. Enjoy a leisurely sail with 360º views en route to the beautiful Holy Isle owned by Tibetan Buddhist. Breathe in the peace and natural beauty of this landscape and discover what attracts multifaith volunteers to this special island.
A peaceful refuge
From Largs, Dualist will sail across the Firth of Clyde to Holy Isle of Arran, where she will moor and a gourmet lunch provided by Fins of Fairlie will be served. The tiny island ferry then transports you to the island where you will be personally greeted by one of the volunteers who will explain about the Project.
Then explore the ever changing beauty of the Holy Isle on foot. Visitors are welcome to walk the west coast as far as Pillar Rock lighthouse on the south east corner of the island. You will see Soay and Saanen sheep and also Eriskay ponies and common and grey seals can often be spotted swimming or lying on the flat rocks around the island. It’s also worth looking out for porpoises and bottlenose dolphins.
There is a well-stocked organic vegetable garden to visit and an Information centre to browse in. Then it is back to Dualist to relax with afternoon tea and scones and enjoy the spectacular scenery of the homeward sail.
